Dying in a bed with cotton sheets after being an invincible warrior is the worst punishment for someone who only lived for the glory of combat. The animated adaptation of the popular light novel series Nia Liston: The Merciless Maiden (Kyoran Reijo Nia Liston: Byojaku Reijo ni Tenseishita Kami-goroshi no Bujin no Kareinaru Muso Roku) has just shown its first assets. The production committee revealed its first official trailer along with a promotional poster, announcing that the series will premiere on Japanese television on October 6.

The story originally created by Umikaze Minamino gives a fairly fresh twist to the reincarnation genre. Our protagonist was a legendary heroine who never knew defeat, but ended her days in absolute peace lamenting not having found a worthy rival that made her fall on the battlefield. When she wakes up in a new world inside the fragile and sickly body of Nia Liston, she realizes she has a long way to go to regain her physical condition. However, with this second chance at life, the girl is completely determined not to waste her destiny: this time she will live and die fighting against the wildest opponents.

An ambitious team behind the cameras

The project will be animated by the studio KONAMI animation under the direction of Motoki Nakanishi, who will be assisted by Haruta Segi. The scriptwriting will be handled by Gigaemon Ichikawa, while Yuki Ito and Kana Tosaoka will adapt the character designs originally seen in the printed illustrations published by Hobby Japan. The musical composition will be handled by Naoki Endo, and the sound direction will be supervised by the veteran Hiromi Kikuta. This story started on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website in 2019 and has since consolidated itself as a true jewel within the community that enjoys powerful protagonists without mercy.
