When the director behind gems like Strike Witches and Vividred Operation decides to combine everything he loves (cute girls, imposing mechas, and great animation) into one project, it’s time to pay attention. The original anime production Vertex Force released its second official trailer to build anticipation for its premiere on October 3rd, revealing the artists behind its musical themes and new voice cast additions.

The new video preview showcased the opening theme “Synchro Blue,” performed by Japanese pop duo ClariS, while singer Hashimero will handle the ending theme with “Emerald.” Alongside this musical reveal, the production confirmed two major additions to the voice cast: Kazuki Ura will voice Alan, and legendary voice actress Nana Mizuki will voice EDVA. They join an already announced main cast featuring Makoto Koichi as young Akira Todo, Kaede Hondo as his sister Haruka, Ami Koshimizu as Eleanor Northbrook, Megumi Han as Lala Zudenstein, and Rie Takahashi as Yoko Nishina.

Behind the scenes, studio SMDE leads the animation production under the direction of Kazuhiro Takamura, who handles character design and oversees scriptwriting alongside Masashi Suzuki. The project features a detailed conceptual design, with Kanetake Ebikawa designing the “Engine” mechas and JNTHED leading the ENIA design line, supported by Goro Kuji as assistant director, Masahito Onoda as chief animation director, and Nobuaki Nobusawa composing the soundtrack.

About Vertex Force

Vertex Force is an original animated series created by director Kazuhiro Takamura, who admitted to pouring all his favorite elements of the medium into this work. The story follows Akira, a boy living peacefully with his mother and older sister Haruka. However, the family hides a big secret: Haruka inherited a mysterious power called “Engine” from their father, while Akira received nothing, leading to a deep inferiority complex. Their seemingly normal lives will collapse when strange and unsettling events begin to unfold globally.
