Living under the same roof with four stepbrothers overnight isn’t easy, and the animated adaptation of Uchi no Ototo-domo ga Sumimasen (Please Excuse My Younger Brothers) has made that clear. To keep the pace in its consecutive two-part broadcast, the production used the Aniplex One Focus event to reveal a new promotional video and confirm who will handle the new opening theme.

The group Neguse. will perform the song “LOVE & LIKE,” the theme for the second block of episodes of this romantic comedy. During the official broadcast, a special video with band members’ comments and a preview of the theme was shown, taking over from the group DISH// with their song “Aikotoba” in the first part of the series.

The animated adaptation, produced by the studio Lay-duce, debuted on screens last July with a total of 24 episodes planned. The project is directed by Hitoshi Nanba, with script supervision by Megumi Shimizu and character design by Shiori Hiraiwa and Yoko Fukushima. The main cast includes Naomi Ozora as Ito Narita, Toshiki Masuda as the cold but attentive Gen Narita, Taku Yashiro as Raku Narita, Kensho Ono as Syu Narita, Momoka Terasawa as Rui Narita, Daisuke Ono as Isao Narita, and Aya Endo as Saho Narita.

About Uchi no Ototo-domo ga Sumimasen

Based on the original work by Akira Ozaki, the story began serialization in Shueisha’s Bessatsu Margaret magazine in January 2020, accumulating 15 compiled volumes in the Japanese market and even inspiring a live-action film at the end of 2024. The plot follows Ito, a high school student whose routine changes completely when her mother remarries. Suddenly, the young woman must move to a new home and adapt to living with four younger stepbrothers, including Gen, the oldest of the group who maintains a distant facade but shows unexpected moments of kindness that disrupt the protagonist’s peace.
