Capcom has revealed enhancements to character customization in Monster Hunter Wilds, set to debut alongside the Ascendance expansion in 2027. The update will enable players to freely re-customize their hunter and Palico appearances as often as they wish, eliminating the need for Character Editing Vouchers, a previously purchasable in-game item.
This adjustment will benefit all players, irrespective of their decision to buy the upcoming DLC. Character Editing Vouchers will be phased out of the game starting December 3 this year. Any vouchers currently owned by players will remain functional until the system overhaul in 2027. As a temporary courtesy until Ascendance launches, Capcom will distribute 10 Character Edit Vouchers and 10 Palico Edit Vouchers to every player.
Earlier, Monster Hunter Wilds granted one free voucher for altering hunter and Palico looks, with additional edits requiring the purchase of paid vouchers. Three-Voucher Packs were priced at $6.99, and a combined character and Palico Edit Voucher three-pack cost $9.99. With this system being discontinued, character appearance modifications will now be entirely free and unrestricted.
Players who have previously purchased Character Edit Vouchers will receive a Special Thank-You Pendant Set (Heavenly Hog and Beelzeboar), available for in-game redemption starting December 3.
Monster Hunter Wilds is accessible on PC (Steam), PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. A Nintendo Switch 2 version is slated for December 4, while the Ascendance expansion is set for 2027.
