Thinking the genre of fantasy beings in the modern world had shown everything? The anime industry has a peculiar way of reminding us creativity knows no bounds. Publisher Kadokawa officially announced that the absurd manga Where is the Elf Teacher’s Toilet? (Elf-Sensei no Toire wa Doko Desu ka?) will get its own TV adaptation, promising to bring one of the most ridiculous and comedic premises of recent years to the screen.

The story follows Eruru, a trainee elf teacher who travels from a fantasy world to work at an ordinary human school. While coexisting with students seems normal at first glance, the young woman faces a huge biological problem: due to her mystical nature, elves can only use the restroom in completely natural environments, surrounded by abundant vegetation and wildflowers.

This unique restriction turns any ordinary day in the concrete jungle into a true survival mission. While trying to teach professionally, Eruru desperately searches for any green corner in the modern city to relieve herself without breaking her species’ traditions, causing all sorts of hilarious and awkward situations.

The work is by Chizuna Nakajima, who began publishing the stories of this stressed-out teacher in Kadokawa’s Comic Cune magazine in January 2024. To celebrate the anime news, the author himself shared a special illustration dedicated to fans who have supported the manga since its first chapters.
