Ado confirms release of new cover album in December

The Japanese singer will include ten fan-chosen songs with Vocaloid and rock themes.

Ado, the singer known for her raspy voice, is back to prove she has no musical boundaries. She confirmed the release of her second cover album titled Ado no Utattemita Album Sono 2, set for official release on December 23, 2026.

This new album features fan-selected tracks, including Vocaloid songs, Japanese pop, and Western classics. While the full album will have around ten songs, three initial tracks have been revealed.

Highlights include the 2014 Vocaloid song Mousou Shikkan Girl by Moja and Rerulili, and Kuchibashi ni Cherry, a 2002 track by EGO-WRAPPIN from the drama Shiritsu Tantei Hama Mike. Ado recorded this song in 2020 as a label exercise before her major debut, and the audio was publicly released in March 2026.

The biggest surprise is Metallica’s 1991 hit Enter Sandman. Ado used this song as her opening and encore during her Summer Sonic 2026 festival performance in Tokyo and Osaka, marking her debut at massive festival stages.

This project follows the first Ado no Utattemita Album released in December 2023. The new edition, announced in June 2026, will be available in two physical formats: a limited edition with an acrylic stand and stickers for about $36, and a standard version for around $22.

Ado is a Japanese singer born in 2002 who revolutionized the music industry since her 2020 debut with the massive hit Usseewa. Known for keeping her face anonymous and using an illustration as her public image, she became one of the most powerful voices of her generation by performing the soundtrack for the film One Piece Film Red as the singing voice of Uta, topping charts in Japan and internationally.
