Publisher Formirai and developer Spectra Motif Studio have shared a fresh story trailer for Morpho Reverie, an upcoming artcore narrative rhythm game. The Steam store page for the game has been refreshed with additional details on gameplay and the cast lineup.
The announcement also disclosed that character profiles and campaigns featuring autographed items from the game’s voice actors will be launched on Morpho Reverie’s official X page later, urging potential players to follow along.
Set in the near future of 2040, Morpho Reverie’s narrative follows composer Rein as they seek out their soulmate, Keeva, who vanishes during a music audition. In her stead, an AI duplicate called Keeva-α takes the stage. Concurrently, a shadowy benefactor reveals that each participant must overcome their AI doppelgangers to advance. As Rein, players will interact with a diverse ensemble of performers, aid in bringing their acts to life, and unravel the mystery behind Keeva’s vanishing act.
Morpho Reverie offers five primary branching conclusions plus numerous sub-endings, all shaped by every performance and decision made throughout the player’s adventure.
Blending two distinct styles, Morpho Reverie combines visual novel segments with rhythm game phases that showcase originally composed tracks tied to the game’s characters. The Steam listing notes that Japanese artists like ARForest, Karato, love solfege, Noah, onoken, Kubota Osamu, and Kaneko Chiharu will contribute over 30 unique music tracks. An “Autoplay Mode” is also included, enabling players to concentrate on the game’s storyline.

Beyond narrative-driven tracks, Morpho Reverie includes a Performance Mode where players can enjoy any track irrespective of the story’s progress. This mode features licensed songs from artists such as BlackY, Sakuzyo, Feryquitous, and Juggernaut alongside the original compositions. Background music tracks are also playable, and the Steam page boasts that the game contains more than 80 playable tracks overall.
Morpho Reverie’s release date remains unannounced, but a demo is slated for release this fall on PC via Steam. The game will support English, Japanese, Chinese (Simplified/Traditional), and Korean upon launch.
