If the zombie apocalypse arrived tomorrow and you discovered that the undead completely ignored you, most would think of becoming the hero to save humanity. However, the protagonist of this story prefers to use that strange immunity to indulge his darkest desires and live without pressure. The anticipated anime adaptation of Zombie no Afureta Sekai de Ore Dake ga Osowarenai (I am the only one who is not attacked in the world filled with zombies) finally unveiled its main trailer, promotional image, and the confirmation of its premiere date for January 2027.

The new video preview lets you hear the musical themes accompanying the broadcast for the first time. Artist RetBear performs the opening theme titled “No Reaction,” while singer Itsuka▶ handles the ending theme with the song “Tsukikage.” Both themes add a vibrant and intense touch to scenes where society collapses as the protagonist walks among the infected as if nothing is happening.

Alongside the musical news, the production announced the addition of new talents to the voice cast. Actress Rikako Ito will portray Tokiko Kurose, while Marie Miyake will bring Sayaka Makiura to life. They join the previously confirmed leads, Wataru Kato as Yusuke Takemura and Yuno Azuma in the role of Mitsuki Fujino.

Behind the scenes, the animation is handled by studios acca effe and Frontier Engine under the direction of Kazuya Fujishiro. Supervision and main scriptwriting fall to Yasushi Hirano alongside Kayo Shimoyama and Makuto Okimiru, while Megumi Ishihara adapts the character designs. The sound direction is by Tadashi Jinbo, supported by the musical composition of ISAO.

Zombie no Afureta Sekai de Ore Dake ga Osowarenai is a survival and dark comedy light novel written by Rokuro Uraji. The work originally began in the adult section of the Shosetsuka ni Naro portal in January 2013, concluding its web story in 2017. Publisher Frontier Works released the printed version with illustrations by Saburo between 2016 and 2017, also featuring a popular manga adaptation drawn by Chihiro Masuda that started in June 2021.

The plot follows Yusuke Takemura, an ordinary man who awakens amid a massive zombie outbreak. Realizing that the monsters completely ignore him for unknown reasons, Takemura decides not to worry about finding a cure or saving others, choosing instead to exploit the situation to fulfill all his personal whims in a world where traditional laws and morality no longer exist.
