Masashi Kishimoto announces Naruto Shadow Rising, a new manga in the franchise
Masashi Kishimoto revealed the title Naruto Shadow Rising at the New York Comic Con.
Just as many thought the blonde ninja’s story had delivered everything it could under the new generations’ era, its original creator decided to make a big announcement. During the franchise’s panel at the New York Comic Con, it was officially confirmed that Masashi Kishimoto will launch a new manga titled Naruto Shadow Rising, immediately stirring nostalgia among fans who grew up with the classic series.
The presentation included a short promotional video with storyboards revealing the first details of this project. The images showed the stern faces of the first six Hokage watching over the Hidden Leaf Village as the seventh face is carved into the mountain. The trailer then focused on the legendary Team 7, showing Naruto holding the Hokage hat, Kakashi smiling, Sasuke with his usual serious look, and Sakura tenderly looking at a baby, ending with a head-on clash of attacks between Naruto and Sasuke.
While the announcement served as a first teaser of what the author has in store, deeper details about the plot and its place in the timeline will remain under wraps for now. The franchise confirmed that all information about this new release will be revealed during the Jump Festa event scheduled for mid-December.
