Idol quits after declaring she hated her fans and shows
Member Nagisa Juri left Planck Stars after admitting the experience disgusted her.
The world of Japanese idols often offers unusual moments, but what happened with the underground group Planck Stars takes the cake. Singer Nagisa Juri became a trending topic after announcing her official retirement from the group just 24 hours after performing on stage for the first time, making it clear she wasnβt willing to tolerate the environment or the fans.
The groupβs management made the decision public in a statement, explaining bluntly the reasons behind this move. According to the official document, Juri requested her immediate graduation because she found the live performance style physically unbearable and disgusting. This was compounded by a deep aversion to the bandβs fans, which ultimately pushed her mental stability to its limit in just hours.

Rather than hiding internal issues, the statement revealed that the member had already been telling clients and colleagues about her desire to quit due to how repulsive the situation was. While venting helped reduce stress temporarily, the idea of performing became an unbearable nightmare. After discussing the situation among the group members, they accepted her resignation so she could rest physically and mentally.
Juri herself apologized for the sudden announcement but added strong words, noting that if the strange fans disappeared, she might consider returning to perform on stage. Her time with the group was literally a flash in the pan: she was introduced on October 17, had her only show on October 18 in Sendai, and by October 19 she was already out of the project.
For context, the controversy coincides with a formal warning the groupβs management issued days earlier about audience behavior. In that statement, serious harassment cases were reported where several attendees approached members without consent while they were on a bed as part of the show. The administration labeled these acts as unsustainable harassment and threatened permanent expulsion and police reports.

Planck Stars is an idol group formed in Hiroshima in 2018 that later moved its activities to Tokyo. The group built its reputation by completely deviating from traditional genre standards, opting for chaotic and disorderly shows where they often released hundreds of live crickets into the audience or left the stage mid-song to eat. Despite disbanding in February 2025 and returning shortly after, member rotation has been constant, as this isnβt the first time a member has retired unable to handle the extreme pace and atmosphere of their performances.
Do you think the idol made the right choice to leave immediately or should she have researched the groupβs style better before joining?
