When traditional justice isn’t enough to clean the streets, the only option is to send someone who perfectly understands a criminal’s mind. The anticipated anime adaptation of the manga Murcielago took a major step by presenting its first video trailer, a new promotional image, and confirmation of its scheduled release date for January 2027.

The story introduces Kuroko Koumori, a former death row inmate who receives a special government pardon on the condition of becoming an official executioner tasked with eradicating the most ruthless criminals the law cannot touch. By her side is Hinako Tozakura, her partner and guardian, a wild young woman who stands out for her supernatural driving skills. Together, they form an eccentric and bloody duo that handles the darkest and most violent cases in society.

In the main voice cast, actress Hitomi Ueda will portray the dangerous protagonist Kuroko Koumori. Meanwhile, Minori Suzuki will voice her inseparable partner Hinako Tozakura, while the well-known Sumire Uesaka will take on the role of Chiyo Yanaoka.

Behind this project is a collaboration between the studios Satelight and Staple Entertainment. Direction will be handled by Matsuo Asami, while Takashi Naoya will serve as general director and supervisor of the narrative composition. Character design for the animation will be by Kiyoshi Tateishi, accompanied by a soundtrack composed by Masanori Akita and Yuichi Tsuchiya.
