South Korean game developer Pearl Abyss has achieved its highest quarterly revenue ever, largely thanks to Crimson Desert. According to the companyโs financial results for Q1 (reported by ThisIsGame), the open-world adventure game alone has generated 266.5 billion won (around $178.92 million USD) in revenue since its release in mid-March.ย
As a result, Pearl Abyss experienced remarkable growth figures, with annual revenue increasing by 419.8% and operating profit surging by 2,584.8% year-on-year.ย ย
A closer look at Crimson Desertโs performance shows that overseas sales make up 94% of the titleโs revenue. Of this, North America and Europe contributed 81%, fueling the gameโs global success. In terms of platforms, the studio reports that the revenue split between PC and consoles (PS5 and Xbox Series XโS) is approximately fifty-fifty.ย
As of mid-April, Crimson Desert has sold 5 million units worldwide. The title is available on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, Mac App Store), PS5, and Xbox Series XโS.ย
