Indie studio KOJIMA_CREATE has shared new development footage for their forthcoming 3D action title Jirai-kei Girl: Vengeance, which has rapidly gained popularity on Japan’s X platform due to its offbeat concept. According to Game*Spark, this project, crafted by a trio of student developers, brings the “overwhelming affection” of the Jirai-kei subculture to life in an intense brawler format.

Jirai-kei, literally translating to “landmine style,” is a Japanese fashion subculture that merges adorable aesthetics with darker, more somber elements. The term originates from internet slang Jirai Onna (“landmine woman”), initially used to describe individuals who appear sweet on the surface but possess emotionally complex or challenging personalities in romantic contexts.

In Jirai-kei Girl: Vengeance, players assume control of a protagonist driven by the “ultimate betrayal”β€”her boyfriend’s infidelity. The gameplay involves using a free-flow combat system to confront her ex and the numerous other women involved in his deception.

The title’s combat mechanics are tailored for seamless group encounters, allowing players to shift targets dynamically through directional inputs. The developers are reportedly fine-tuning the impact sensations and broadening the combo system to heighten the satisfaction of the revenge-focused gameplay.

Although the main goal is to pursue those who wronged the protagonist, the creators have hinted that there might be deeper layers to her quest for vengeance.

Jirai-kei Girl: Vengeance is slated for release on PC (Steam) during Q4 2026.
