Video game publisher Astrolabe Games introduced their “AGO Manifesto” on July 10, announcing that the company will produce and distribute PlayStation 5 physical versions of all their upcoming titles that meet specific criteria.
Astrolabe Games, a publisher originating from China, offers a wide selection of games across various genres, such as the 3D rabbit metroidvania F.I.S.T.: Forged In Shadow Torch. This year, they have launched several titles, including the console adaptation of BLAZBLUE ENTROPY EFFECT X, a roguelike action spin-off from the BLAZBLUE franchise.
The “AGO Manifesto” was introduced in response to recent reports about the cessation of physical discs for PlayStation, planned for 2028. This initiative takes its name from Astrolabe Game’s Chinese moniker “a-gou” (阿狗, translating to “a puppy”), and the English expression “to give something a go,” signifying the company’s dedication to pursuing physical publishing.
As detailed in the official statement, the initiative will encompass all of Astrolabe’s upcoming titles that have secured PlayStation 5 approval prior to June 1, 2027. These physical releases are scheduled to launch in the second half of 2027. The publisher assures that it will “produce, manufacture, and distribute at least a minimum order quantity of PS5 physical editions in at least one region (NA/EMEA/Asia).” However, availability in every global region is not guaranteed due to varying distribution conditions and market demand.

The publisher also cautions that, as this is a goodwill commitment, they will not be responsible for compensation if the production of a PS5 physical edition is hindered by unforeseen circumstances. This may include platform holders implementing policies that render production impossible, regional distribution partners reaching production limits, or developers opting not to proceed with a PS5 version.
Currently, Gurei, Fall Up, and OMEGA PHENEX COMMENCED PROJECT SIX have been confirmed as eligible titles, set to receive physical editions in Q4 of 2026, the first half of 2027, and the second half of 2027 respectively. More games will be added to the initiative as they meet the qualifications for a physical PS5 release.
