The definitive conclusion: The final part of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War reveals release date and musical themes
jo0ji and 9Lana provide the music for the definitive end of Bleach’s thousand-year war.
After years of anticipation divided into installments, the end of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War now has a final date. The fourth and last cour, subtitled The Calamity, confirmed its premiere for July 25, 2026, revealing along with the announcement the musical themes that will accompany the conclusion of this adaptation and a new main visual.
The opening is titled “I-BULL” and is performed by singer jo0ji. The ending “Rasen” (Spiral) is by singer-songwriter 9Lana. For a franchise that has built much of its recent identity on memorable openings and endings in each cour, the choice of these two artists to close the story carries significant symbolic weight.

The Thousand-Year Blood War project began in 2022 with its first cour, covering the initial stages of the arc. The second cour arrived in 2023, and the third, subtitled The Conflict, aired at the end of 2024. This continuous adaptation structure with breaks between cours has allowed the story to unfold across multiple seasons without compromising the production quality that has defined the project since the start.
About Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War
Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War adapts the final arc of Tite Kubo’s original manga, bringing together all long-term narrative threads related to the Soul Society, the Quincy, and the group of characters led by Ichigo Kurosaki. The adaptation has been praised for its high production values and its faithful approach to the original material, returning Bleach to the place many fans felt it deserved after years without an animated conclusion to its story. The Calamity represents the definitive close to that project.
Do you think The Calamity will match the level of the previous cours, or are expectations for Bleach’s finale too high after so many years of waiting?
