Publisher Happinet has made available the free Steam demo for its forthcoming turn-based strategy title, Brigandine Abyss. Gamers can now test out different party setups and engage in battles featuring the Gran Dragnica and Scarlet Will factions, up to Chapter 2 of the main plot. However, it’s worth noting that progress from the demo cannot be carried forward to the full game.
The storyline of Brigandine Abyss revolves around a coup orchestrated by the Kingdom of Solginat’s chancellor, aiming to establish a new empire. In the game’s Story Mode, players step into the shoes of one of six faction leaders, each striving to fend off the empire’s advancing forces. Although this marks the third installment in the series, each game is designed to be enjoyed independently, so prior knowledge of the franchise isn’t necessary.

Gameplay kicks off with the Organization Phase, where players handle troop management, purchase supplies, enhance their base, and strategize their next actions. Smart resource and task allocation is crucial, as it directly impacts troop strength and future opportunities.
After deciding on a territory to conquer for resources and stronger units, the Attack Phase commences. Battles unfold on a hexagonal grid, requiring players to maneuver their forces and eliminate enemy units. Each faction boasts unique soldiers, monsters, and abilities, enabling diverse tactical approaches.

Beyond its Story Mode, Brigandine Abyss features a Mission Mode, offering 24 faction leaders with distinct victory conditions. The game is expected to deliver over 200 hours of gameplay.

PC gamers aren’t the only ones getting an early look, as Happinet has pledged to share details about free demos for the Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S versions in the coming weeks.
Brigandine Abyss is scheduled to launch on August 27 for Windows (Steam), Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
