A month after the launch of Deltarune Chapter 5, its creator Toby Fox is already generating excitement for the upcoming Chapters 6 and 7. In contrast to the more lighthearted tone of Chapter 5, the concluding chapters promise to deliver the consequences of the narrative groundwork laid so far, steering clear of the “wacky silly adventures” that characterized earlier segments.
In his most recent Deltarune newsletter, Fox describes Chapter 6 as a “shorter, straightforward chapter” concentrating on a single story element. This approach may lead to some unexpected surprises, as certain familiar game features will be absent. Despite concerns over Chapter 6’s brevity, Fox reassures players that the full scope of his storytelling will become clear upon completion of Chapter 7, which is scheduled for a separate release later on.
Fox also shared progress updates on Chapter 6, noting that he has recently finalized additional sequences and reorganized the level layouts to align with the new structure. With these changes in place, the development team can now test a complete draft of the chapter. Assuming no major restructuring is needed, the team will shift focus to finalizing the boss encounter and refining the cutscenes.
Provided everything proceeds as planned, Deltarune Chapter 6 is expected to arrive sometime in 2027.
