Developer Studio Fahrenheit 213 (213℉) has revealed plans for a combat-focused closed beta test of their upcoming title, TSURUGIHIME. Prospective participants can apply now, with applications closing on August 23. The beta test itself is slated for August 25 and will accommodate a maximum of 100 players.

TSURUGIHIME is a side-scrolling action RPG expected to launch in Early Access during 2026. The narrative centers on Arche, a sword-wielding protagonist, as she navigates the 100 days preceding a pivotal battle. Her world is under siege by Kugutsu—mindless puppets that attack humans without hesitation, proving too formidable for conventional human forces. Arche, however, wields the extraordinary power of the Tsurugi, a force capable of altering destiny and functioning as a game-changing ability.

The game’s core concept revolves around player-driven choices, allowing every decision to shape the game’s progression and outcomes, leading to multiple endings. Over the 100-day period with Arche, players will engage in storytelling, character development (including nurturing Arche’s younger sister), exploration, and weapon customization. The experience offers significant freedom, enabling players to focus on combat progression or opt for a peaceful approach without engaging in battles.

The project is helmed by Yosuke Shiokawa, a veteran director behind titles such as Fate/Grand Order, Kingdom Hearts, and Dissidia: Final Fantasy. As development progresses, Shiokawa’s team has organized the closed beta to test the game’s combat mechanics. The beta will feature a special game build with unique rules, focusing solely on tactical and action gameplay. Comprehensive details on actions and controls can be found on the Steam news hub and the official Discord server. The application window remains open until August 23.

TSURUGIHIME is scheduled to enter Early Access on Steam in 2026.
