Following the triumphant launch of Guilty Gear Strive 2.0, Arc System Works appears fully prepared to propel the franchise forward. In a discussion with Famitsu, producer Ken Miyauchi outlined intentions to sustain the franchise’s momentum and investigate developments post-2025 Guilty Gear Strive: Dual Rulers anime.
Guilty Gear Strive has now entered its fifth year, and with the release of Ver. 2.00, I believe we’ve finally reached the stage where we can start thinking about the series’ next steps. We will continue the Guilty Gear series, and personally, I’m eager to see a new story unfold. I hope to deliver developments that connect with the story so far, including the events depicted in the Guilty Gear Strive: Dual Rulers anime. I’d be delighted if you would enjoy the series, including these upcoming developments.”
While advancing the franchise involves multiple aspects, such as gameplay refinements and visual enhancements for its fighting games, Miyauchi expresses personal enthusiasm for progressing Guilty Gear’s narrative.

Unlike its Arcade mode, which presents fragmented character stories linked through bouts, Guilty Gear Strive’s Story mode features nine viewable primary chapters (along with one supplementary chapter) concentrating on the tale of Sol Badguy and select allies. Despite the main story effectively showcasing the game’s striking cel-shaded visuals, the limited player interaction led some to feel they were watching an anime instead of engaging with gameplay.
Guilty Gear Strive: Dual Rulers, conversely, is an eight-episode anime series set after the main campaign’s events but before the game’s fourth season. It centers on a new figure, Unika, and her ties to the core cast.
The specifics of Guilty Gear’s future appear to remain confidential for the time being, yet until the development team elects to reveal their plans, Miyauchi trusts fans will remain engaged with the franchise.
Guilty Gear Strive is accessible on PlayStation 4 and 5, Windows (Steam), Xbox One and Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and arcades.
