Video game publisher Phoenixx has recently announced Kokoro Clover Infinite Phantasm, the newest installment in its Sunday morning anime-inspired Kokoro Clover series. This title, which combines elements of visual novels and action games, is set to launch on Steam, though a release date has not yet been confirmed.

In line with the conventions of traditional Sunday morning anime, the game’s main story is divided into episodes, featuring dialogue-rich visual novel segments that shift into action gameplay during intense moments. Much like watching a TV show, the game displays the time in the upper left corner of the screen and includes several anime staples—such as opening and ending sequences for each episode, along with eye-catchers during transitions between gameplay sections.

The game’s world is filled with quirky elements that align with many anime tropes from the 2000s, including transformations, cards, robots, dancing, detectives, ninjas, dinosaurs, and an adventure that “never ends and always continues.”

While Kokoro Clover Season, the first entry in the series, included brief action stages and boss battles, its sequel Kokoro Clover SUN – Prehistoric Invaders! focused solely on boss encounters. Infinite Phantasm follows this design philosophy, with its action segments centered around boss fights.

Kokoro Clover Infinite Phantasm also reintroduces the Boss Rush Arena mode, allowing players to concentrate on the game’s combat mechanics. For those who prefer to experience the narrative, the Story Mode enables skipping battles, letting players focus exclusively on the visual novel aspects.

Moreover, the game features an original theme song composed and performed by renowned anison composer Hideaki Takatori, known for his work on the Precure series, Yu-Gi-Oh Zexal II, The Idolmaster: Cinderella Girls Starlight Stage rhythm game, and various tokusatsu productions.

Kokoro Clover Infinite Phantasm is currently in development for PC (Steam).
