Thinking the story of the industry’s biggest heroes was completely over was naive. To celebrate its tenth anniversary, the animated adaptation of My Hero Academia (Boku no Hero Academia) is preparing to reveal a brand-new project that promises to excite fans during a special live broadcast.

The star announcement will come next September 20 via a special program titled All Might Nippon YouTube Special Edition: 10th Anniversary Midterm Report, which will air live on the official TOHO animation channel. The event will be hosted by voice actors Daiki Yamashita, who plays protagonist Izuku Midoriya, and Nobuhiko Okamoto, who voices explosive Katsuki Bakugo. This program will serve as the video version of the popular radio show All Might Nippon, which accompanied the franchise through all its TV seasons up to the eighth and final one.

In addition to revealing details about the mysterious new project, the event will review initiatives launched under the tenth anniversary of the anime, which already include fifteen active projects and several additional plans in development. To cap off the broadcast, Yamashita and Okamoto will perform some of the most iconic scenes from Midoriya and Bakugo throughout the anime, selected via a fan vote.

About My Hero Academia

Written and illustrated by Kohei Horikoshi, the My Hero Academia manga began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in July 2014 and concluded in August 2024 after a successful ten-year run. Its animated adaptation debuted in April 2016 and reached its conclusion on December 13, 2025 after accumulating 170 episodes. After completing his magnum opus, the author published a standalone 61-page horror chapter titled Don’t Laugh, Shijima-san, marking his first new work since the franchise’s conclusion.
