Japanese publisher One or Eight and developer Team EARTHWARS have recently unveiled Warota: I Live Next to The Demon King’s Castle LOL, a village-building action RPG slated for a Steam release in winter 2026, followed by PS5 and Switch 2 versions in 2027.
Should the lengthy title evoke memories of an isekai anime or light novel, it’s no coincidence—Warota: I Live Next to The Demon King’s Castle LOL injects humor into the genre. Upon your demise, a goddess rescues your soul, reincarnating you into the beleaguered fantasy realm of Luna. This world lies in ruins, oppressed by the cruel Demon King, leaving its inhabitants with mere remnants.

As a “Bounder,” a rare entity blessed with creative power, you’re tasked by the goddess to revive Luna and restore harmony. Living as the Demon King’s next-door neighbor, you’ll gather resources, recruit allies, cultivate fields, and grow your village. Yet, the Demon King—a pop idol herself—won’t idly observe. Every time she hosts a concert in her castle, swarms of monsters will attack your village. You must unite with villagers to bolster defenses and repel these onslaughts; vanquishing powerful bosses will reveal Luna’s hidden truths.

Warota: I Live Next to The Demon King’s Castle LOL offers over 20 classes and playstyles (such as mage, warrior, guard, or farmer), with your class determined by hats imbued with the goddess’s power. You’ll distribute these hats to villagers to assign their roles. Moreover, you can refine your combat approach through blessings granted by praying at Goddess Statues across the world, which provide buffs like attack power, speed, and elemental effects.
Warota: I Live Next to The Demon King’s Castle LOL is set to launch in winter 2026 on PC (Steam). PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2 versions are scheduled for 2027.
