The Chinese servers for Neverness to Everness (NTE) recently received an update that modifies the new Cosmos character, Shinku. In response to player feedback regarding the game’s “alluring elements being toned down,” Shinku’s shorts and leggings in certain outfits have been adjusted to align with her depiction in promotional content from other regions. NTE’s international servers are set to receive the Version 1.2 patch, which includes Shinku and her original designs, on July 9.
As observed by players, the Dragon Knight outfit omits Shinku’s black shorts, showcasing the armor plates that better match the skin’s original concept. The Student of Terrasea ensemble, meanwhile, fully replaces the leggings model with briefs.
NTE has a history of incorporating fan service. Numerous female characters feature costumes that, when viewed from specific angles, expose frilly undergarments. A case in point is Nanally’s The Popular Kid outfit, which dresses the character in a sailor-style school uniform. Even though the outfit’s skirt is sufficiently long to conceal the character’s intimate areas under normal circumstances, executing certain actions and utilizing the in-game photo mode enable players to catch glimpses of her from more revealing perspectives.

While the modifications to Shinku have pleased those who requested them, a segment of the community remains displeased, contending that the character’s combat style essentially demands her to wear shorts or leggings. Given that this is the online sphere we’re discussing, it’s almost certain that not all players will be content regardless of the adjustments made to the game.
It’s noteworthy that the Shinku update was deployed just 12 hours after Version 1.2 launched on July 2, marking a swift reaction from the developers at Perfect World to “restore” their newest character. Conversely, Marvel Rivals recently downgraded its Seaside Sentinel skin for Captain America, shrinking his crotch size to less imposing dimensions, similarly in reaction to player feedback.
Neverness to Everness is accessible on Android, iOS, PlayStation 5, as well as Windows and macOS (available for download from the official site).
