Dramatic Create has revealed that Ooe, a boys’ love (BL) visual novel that was first released in two parts for PC, is heading to Nintendo Switch later this year. Crafted by Japanese indie doujin circle ADELTA, the upcoming console adaptation will feature voice acting for the character Hinode, additional playable episodes, and support for Japanese, English, Chinese (Traditional and Simplified), and Korean languages.

Ooe unfolds on the fictional remote island of Ooejima, Japan, set during the Showa era. Players assume the role of Oosaki, a detective who receives an unusual request to stand in for someone and attend the third-anniversary memorial service for a departed actress. The situation escalates into peril when a dead servant is discovered, and the ship scheduled to return them home fails to arrive. Now marooned on the island, the ten attendees—including Oosaki—must confront the mystery behind the servant’s demise and the connections binding them together.

Every male attendee can be pursued romantically, including the servant whose death triggers the story’s events. The roster of romanceable characters expands after completing the prologue, with additional choices and character profiles unlocking as more playthroughs are completed. Beyond romance, Ooe incorporates puzzle-solving gameplay elements.
The PC edition of Ooe carries an 18+ rating and has earned praise for its narrative and troubled yet attractive characters. It is available in Japanese on DLsite, Animate Games, BOOTH, and FANZA (links contain NSFW content). It remains unclear whether the Nintendo Switch version will retain the original’s content or undergo modifications for console audiences.
Ooe is scheduled for release in 2026 on Nintendo Switch.
