The battles between science and magic are far from over, and to the delight of fans, the story of romance and political intrigue between Iska and Aliceliese will continue on screen. During the special Fantasia Bunko Grand Thanksgiving Festival 2026 Online held this Sunday, it was officially announced that the anime Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World (Kimi to Boku no Saigo no Senjo, Arui wa Sekai ga Hajimaru Seisen) will have a third season.

The announcement came with a first promotional image drawn by character designer Kaori Yoshikawa, showing Iska and Rin preparing to infiltrate the Empire to rescue Sisbell, while Aliceliese watches them with clear concern from a distance. For this new stage, studios SILVER LINK. and Studio Palette will reunite for animation production, keeping Yuki Inaba as director and script supervisor, while Kaori Yoshikawa will again handle character designs.

The main voice cast will remain intact to continue the characters. Yusuke Kobayashi will reprise Iska, joined by Sora Amamiya voicing Princess Aliceliese Lou Nebulis IX. The cast is completed with Nao Shiraki as Mismis Klass, Kaori Ishihara as Nene Alkastone, Shunichi Toki as Jhin Syulargun, Yumiri Hanamori as Rin Vispose, and Azumi Waki voicing the third princess Sisbell Lou Nebulis IX.

Light novel author Kei Sazane thanked fans for their constant support, noting that this third installment will address events on a much larger scale and reveal fundamental secrets central to the plot. This confirmation marks a stable moment for the franchise, recalling that the first season aired in October 2020, while the second season underwent a complete schedule restructuring after its broadcast was suspended in mid-2024 to ensure visual quality standards, resuming from the first episode in April 2025.

Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World is a series of fantasy and science fiction light novels written by Kei Sazane and illustrated by Ao Nekonabe. The work began publication under Kadokawa’s editorial label in May 2017, accumulating 16 printed volumes to date. Its popularity led to a manga adaptation by Okama in Young Animal magazine starting May 2018, collected in seven volumes, plus a series of spin-off novels titled Secret File.

The story takes place in a world divided by a prolonged war between the Empire, a technologically advanced power, and the Sovereignty of Nebulis, a nation inhabited by witches who control astral magic. The plot follows Iska, the youngest swordsman to hold the highest military title in the Empire, and Aliceliese Lou Nebulis IX, the heir princess of the rival side. Despite being sworn enemies on the battlefield, both discover a deep connection through their ideals of peace and mutual respect.
