Part 2 of Hibike! Euphonium finale reveals preview and release date
Kumiko Oumae’s musical journey concludes on September 11.
The curtain is about to close on one of the most beautiful and emotional franchises of the last decade. On Friday, April 24, coinciding with the Japanese premiere of the first half of the project, Kyoto Animation surprised fans by releasing a new official trailer and an exclusive promotional image for Sound! Euphonium The Final Movie Part 2 (Hibike! Euphonium). The announcement confirmed that this long-awaited conclusion will arrive in Japanese cinemas on September 11, definitively closing the journey of the Kitauji school band.

The voices of the final concert
An anime film with this emotional weight needs perfect performances to move the audience. The studio confirmed that the entire original cast is returning to bid farewell to their iconic musical characters. Here are the main voice actresses who will resume their instruments for the last time:
- Tomoyo Kurosawa as Kumiko Oumae.
Phosphophyllite in Land of the Lustrous and Rebecca in Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.
- Chika Anzai as Reina Kosaka.
Chisato Nishikigi in Lycoris Recoil and Shina in Kengan Ashura.
- Ayaka Asai as Hazuki Kato.
Mio Naruse in The Testament of Sister New Devil and Clara Valac in Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun.

The master team behind Kitauji’s symphony
To ensure this finale is perfect, the technical lineup remains unchanged. Tatsuya Ishihara returns as chief director, accompanied by director Taichi Ogawa. Veteran screenwriter Jukki Hanada wrote new original scenes not seen in the 2024 season, ensuring this cinematic version is more than just a TV recap. Additionally, to maintain the emotional thread that has connected the entire franchise since 2015, singer TRUE will return to perform the closing theme titled “ToCoda”.
The melody that will close the curtain on this franchise
This dual film promises to be the definitive version of the events during the third school year. The new trailer dazzled by showing completely new animated sequences of the “Sunrise Festival,” the iconic marching event that serves as a test of fire for the music band of Kitauji High School.
But the true dramatic weight will fall on Kumiko. New scenes anticipate her difficult transition to assume the club presidency, dealing with the pressure of keeping the ensemble united while competing at the national level. After more than ten years of growing with these characters, the second part of the film promises to give us the definitive resolution of their conflicts, friendships, and musical passion on the big screen.
