The successful game Wuthering Waves confirms its anime adaptation
Kuro Games founded its own animation studio to bring Wuthering Waves: Elysium to life.
The mobile gaming industry continues to expand beyond our consoles, and this time Kuro Games developers decided to go all out. Through an impressive conceptual trailer, the company officially announced the production of Wuthering Waves: Elysium, a new animated adaptation based on its massive open-world action RPG. To show they’re serious about this ambitious project, the team revealed the series will come to life through Kuro Onroad, their newly launched internal animation division, ensuring full creative control over the work.

For those who haven’t played this franchise since its massive global launch in 2024, the original story puts us in the shoes of the Rover, an amnesiac and deadly traveler who awakens from a long slumber in the hostile post-apocalyptic world of Solaris-3. Accompanied by formidable allies known as Resonators, his main goal is to recover his lost memories while fighting grotesque and dangerous creatures called Tacet Discords. Thanks to the incredible fluidity of its combat system and the spectacular visuals of its in-game cinematics, the community had been demanding a series that could capture that same adrenaline on television for months.
A promising future, but full of secrets
Although the hype is sky-high, the studio executives chose to keep several cards close to their chest. So far, no fundamental details like episode count, exact narrative arc, or approximate release window have been revealed, though they confirmed production is already in full swing. This announcement comes at a time in 2026 that has been filled with massive content updates for the original title, marking a firm step toward international brand consolidation.
Given that gacha game adaptations are often a gamble in terms of pacing and character development, do you think Kuro Games’ new internal studio can break the curse and deliver a story that will hook both veteran players and new viewers?
