The Suikoden Project Team has recently provided fresh details on Suikoden STAR LEAP, the inaugural mobile RPG based on Konami’s enduring fantasy franchise.

Although development of the game, which was first unveiled in spring 2025, is reportedly on track, an official launch date remains unannounced. Nevertheless, the creators have outlined the release sequence for the game’s various versions, which will be introduced in stages across different regions and platforms.

Even as a free-to-play offering, Star Leap is being developed as a complete new entry in the franchise, aiming to expand its universe and canonical history. The narrative follows an original cast and is set to commence two years prior to the events of Suikoden I, gradually unfolding across multiple eras within the series. According to producer Shinya Fujimatsu, this new installment is envisioned as a blend of mobile and console gaming experiences, combining console-quality visuals, music, and storytelling with the convenience of mobile gameplay.

In the latest update, it was confirmed that the iOS/Android iteration of Suikoden STAR LEAP will debut in Japan initially, followed by a global mobile release. The Steam version will be the final launch, debuting simultaneously worldwide. The development team has stated that specific release dates will be disclosed progressively, meaning fans anticipating the global version can expect its launch date to be announced after the Japanese version’s release. It should be noted that the global version will have limited availability in certain countries and regions, though the Suikoden Project Team did not specify which areas will be affected.

According to the developers, this staggered release strategy is designed to provide ample time for thorough preparation, platform optimization, and ensuring “uncomplicated access for players across numerous regions.”

Furthermore, the Suikoden Project Team has also established its official X account, which will serve as the platform for all future updates regarding the game.
