The anime Glasses with a Chance of Delinquent confirms its release date

The romantic comedy about an ex-delinquent posing as a good boy will premiere in 2027.

If you enjoy seeing the quiet class girl falling for the school troublemaker, this news is exactly what you wanted. To the delight of romance fans, the official website for the animated adaptation of Megane, Tokidoki, Yankee-kun (Glasses with a Chance of Delinquent) has just released a new promotional trailer. Along with revealing a few visuals, the production committee confirmed that the series will officially air on screens sometime in 2027.

The story follows Momose, a student who wants a peaceful school life and stays away from bullies and trouble. Her life seems perfect when she meets Ichikura, a black-haired boy with glasses who looks like a typical friendly student. However, in middle school, he was a tough delinquent. Although he swears he has changed, his fighting instinct remains, forcing Momose to decide whether to keep his dark secret or expose him to protect her desired peace.

The team behind this fun gem

The anime industry knows how to exploit these formulas, and for plenty of humor, the project is in the hands of Studio Flad and Wao World. Director Makoto Hoshino (known for Banished from the Hero’s Party) leads the team, with scripts by Megumi Shimizu and character designs by Ruriko Watanabe. The original manga by Naruki has been a huge success since its 2021 debut in Bessatsu Friend, surpassing one million copies in circulation after resuming serialization thanks to reader support.

Given that the protagonist claims to have changed but still has a short temper when it comes to fights, do you think he can maintain his “nice-glasses guy” facade long enough to win Momose without ruining her peaceful school life?
