Extreme skateboarding fans have been waiting for updates, and patience has finally paid off. Through the official franchise website, director Hiroko Utsumi delighted the community by posting a special message and a new illustration to ease excitement about the highly anticipated second season of the original anime SK8 the Infinity.

In her statement, Utsumi admitted the production team isn’t yet at a stage where they can show finished visual material. However, they didn’t leave fans empty-handed, sharing a juicy detail: the sequel’s theme will be set in the cold winter season. The message came with a fun conceptual art showing two protagonists in thick coats, fur trim, and traditional conical hats, ready to skate on snow under the “Season 2” motto, hinting at endless possibilities for this new chapter.

Recall that this successful sports anime by studio Bones burst into the anime industry in 2021, quickly gaining a loyal fanbase. Although the second season and an original video animation (OVA) were announced in August 2022, so far only four shorts released in March 2025 have been enjoyed. Without an official broadcast window yet, the director confirmed progress is steady and asked fans to continue supporting the project.
