The wait is over for fans of tactical escapes and extreme survival. The production committee behind the animated adaptation of The Elusive Samurai (known in Japan as Nige Jouzu no Wakagimi) released its main promotional video this weekend. The trailer confirms July 17 as the official release date for its highly anticipated second season.

To maintain the high animation quality that captivated audiences during its 2024 broadcast, CloverWorks brought back key staff. Yuta Yamazaki returns as director, working with Yoriko Tomita on script supervision. The distinctive art style, shifting from absurd comedy to brutal warfare, will continue under Yasushi Nishiya as chief animation director and character designer.

The new trailer also introduced the musical theme. The opening song, titled “Onigoto,” will be performed by singer Kento Nakajima, adding energy to the young Hojo heir’s adventures as he tries to reclaim what was taken from him.
