Internet often reacts before investigating, and South Korean cosplayer Yasal just taught over 30 million viewers a lesson. During a photo and autograph session at an event in China, a short video showing the creator kissing a fan dressed in an androgynous style sparked a wave of comments and theories on social media.

In the footage that went viral, Yasal appeared wearing a stunning Taihou costume from the Azur Lane franchise while taking someone’s cheeks and giving them a direct kiss on the lips. Due to the fan’s short haircut and style of dress, many people immediately assumed it was a man, leading to speculation about the boundaries of interactions at such conventions.

To prevent misunderstandings, Yasal quickly clarified that the person was a female fan and the kiss happened at her explicit request. The fan also spoke out on social media to confirm her identity, explaining she is a woman who simply prefers short hair and asking the community to verify information before spreading false rumors. This isn’t the first time Yasal has shown such gestures, as she’s known for being very close and affectionate with her supporters, fixing their hair, holding their hands, or writing personalized dedications.

Yasal is a well-known South Korean cosplayer born in 1999 and a member of the famous professional team RZ COS. Her massive rise to fame in the Chinese market happened in mid-2025 at the Bilibili World event in Shanghai, where she attended as an official guest to represent the Daydream Bunny Girl Mophia character from the mobile game Brown Dust 2.

On that occasion, after receiving complaints about her revealing outfit on the first day, Yasal humbly changed into the organizing team’s t-shirt and continued interacting with fans. Her professional and approachable attitude earned community respect, helping her gain over 1.5 million followers in record time and become a regular figure at major conventions in the region.
