You and I Are Polar Opposites releases first trailer for its second season

Lapin Track brings back our favorite mismatched couple to heal our souls this summer.

If you were just recovering from the overdose of sweetness from the first season earlier this year, get ready because the sequel is just around the corner. The official website for the animated adaptation of You and I Are Polar Opposites (known in Japan as Seihantai na Kimi to Boku) has just released a new promotional video. This trailer not only shows our protagonists’ fun interactions but officially confirms that the second season will air on TV next July 5th.

And to set the mood for this romantic comedy, the production committee used the trailer to let us hear a snippet of “Nekojarashi,” the opening theme (opening) performed by singer 7co (Nanako). Interestingly, this artist is making her professional debut in the music industry with this catchy song, which was written and composed exclusively for the franchise.

Knowing that the summer season always has fierce competition, director Takakazu Nagatomo and studio Lapin Track decided to bring in heavy reinforcements. Tamami Izawa and Sara Sakoe join the project as chief animation directors to polish the visual quality, while Eriko Kimura takes the helm as sound director. With the acclaimed manga by Kocha Agasawa already completed on the successful platform Shonen Jump+ (and selling over 1.8 million copies), the production team has a clear path to deliver a faithful adaptation covering the rest of the story.

Are you ready to see how this couple evolves, or do you feel the romance is moving too slowly for your taste?
