A plain office worker adopts what seems to be a common bird. The bird turns out to be a sage from another world. A new trailer and promotional image for the highly anticipated second season of the Sasaki and Peeps (Sasaki to Pii-chan) anime adaptation have been revealed, confirming its official return to Japanese television in October.

A notable detail is the updated staff credits, reflecting deserved promotions and greater responsibilities for key members from the first season within the studio.

The most significant production change is that Yushi Ibe, who worked as episode director and assistant director in the first season, now takes over as the full series director at SILVER LINK. This internal promotion maintains the original team’s continuity while bringing a fresh perspective to the project’s head. Yamato Ouchi, also an episode director in the first installment, becomes assistant director. Deko Akao continues as the series scriptwriter, and the entire first-season cast returns to their respective roles.

About Sasaki and Peeps

Sasaki and Peeps is a light novel series by Buncololi with illustrations by Kantoku, starting in January 2021 and spanning thirteen volumes, with the latest released in March 2026. The series won categories in Takarajimasha’s Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi!. The manga adaptation by Pureji Osho is also ongoing. The first anime season premiered in January 2024 with a one-hour special and ran for 12 episodes. The story follows Sasaki, an office worker whose daily life takes a radical turn when he adopts a bird that turns out to be a powerful otherworldly sage, capable of granting supernatural abilities and opening doors to alternate dimensions.
