The social media announcement confirmed that the series will present the stories of new edgerunners, positioning the second installment as an independent narrative within the Cyberpunk 2077 universe that doesn’t require the events of the first season to follow the same path.

The promotional video released in July 2025 had already described the project as a raw chronicle of atonement and revenge in a completely new 10-episode story. More information about the series is scheduled for the Anime Expo 2026 in Los Angeles, with the latest updates planned for July 4th in Japanese time.
