A VTuber goes furious live after being mocked by a viewer
The independent creator made it clear that audience respect isn’t bought with money.
Treating the audience as mere numbers on a counter is one of the most unpleasant attitudes in the streaming world, and some creators won’t tolerate it. During a live Minecraft stream, independent VTuber Fujiwara Momo immediately stopped her voice call to confront a viewer live who mocked her low number of concurrent viewers.
The incident happened during a multiplayer event with several content creators. A user in the chat made a derogatory comment about the small number of people watching Momo’s stream at that moment. Instead of ignoring it, the creator cut her conversation with her co-streamers to call out the viewer in front of everyone.

Although the person involved sent a text apology that the streamer initially accepted, tensions rose when the same user sent a paid Super Chat to smooth things over. That monetary donation further enraged the creator, who interpreted the gesture as a blatant attempt to buy her forgiveness. Later, via social media, Momo clarified that while she values regular financial support, she finds it unacceptable for someone to try to erase a lack of respect toward her and her followers using money. For the streamer, the people who join her streams deserve respect regardless of how many are on screen, and no financial contribution justifies condescending behavior.

Known in the independent content scene for her clumsy maid avatar and a very relaxing voice, Fujiwara Momo has built a close-knit space through video game streams like Minecraft and casual chat sessions. After the bitter experience during the event, the creator shared the clip of the argument to reflect on what happened and continued with her usual schedule, making it clear she will maintain a firm stance against ill-intentioned behavior in her chat.
Do you think content creators should confront users this way, or do you believe giving attention to mockery only worsens things in the chat?
