Controversy in Hololive: Vtuber Kazama Iroha Explodes Over Inappropriate Cover

Hololive delayed Holo no Graffiti broadcast after complaints from the VTuber.

Falling into the clutches of internet clickbait annoys anyone, but when your own agency production uses you as an exaggerated advertising hook, things change completely. Hololive talent Kazama Iroha didn’t stay silent after seeing the promotional image used for the short anime episode Holo no Graffiti (Hologra), publicly denouncing that the material was completely misleading and showed a provocative side that doesn’t match her involvement in the story.

The conflict began on Saturday when the official franchise account announced the new episode scheduled for Sunday, October 4, promising a plot full of mischief where Nekomata Okayu got a time-stopping switch. To promote the broadcast, the production shared an image that provoked an immediate reaction from Iroha. The VTuber, known for her traditional samurai-style speech, made it clear that her role in the episode was minimal and called the post a genuine visual scam, finishing with a strong message stating that such a bold version of her doesn’t exist and will never appear on the show.

The creator’s annoyance didn’t stop at just complaining about the edit. During Sunday, Iroha explained that the post sparked a wave of speculation and uncomfortable comments on social media that ruined her personal searches on the platform. The situation led her colleague Shirakami Fubuki to intervene directly with Hololive management, demanding they stop using promotional art that distorts the girls’ images in strange ways, prompting the staff to take action.

In response to the uproar in the community, agency Hololive Production issued an official statement apologizing to fans for the concern generated around the premiere. The company confirmed the video was reviewed and emergency modified, rescheduling the episode release for three hours later than originally planned. Additionally, management asked users to refrain from sending critical or bothersome messages to the girls involved in the production.

Hololive Production is a virtual YouTuber agency managed by Japanese company Cover Corporation. With dozens of content creators daily streaming games, music, and live talks, the agency has positioned itself as the most important global reference for virtual entertainment. Among its weekly content offerings stands out Holo no Graffiti (Hologra), a popular 3D animated comedy series streamed on YouTube where the girls star in absurd situations within the company office.

What do you think about Kazama Iroha’s stance on out-of-context promotional images?
