In honor of the reveal of its forthcoming roguelite action game CRYMELIGHT, developer FuRyu is hosting a promotional event for the titles that came before it, specifically 2018’s CRYSTAR and 2025’s CRYMACHINA.
The most significant markdowns are available on Steam, where CRYSTAR is priced at 90% off, just $1.99 USD (a record low since its initial release) and CRYMACHINA is discounted to 35% off, $38.99. These offers are part of the FuRyu Games publishing sale, set to conclude on May 5 at 10 am UTC.
Players on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, along with PlayStation 4 and 5, can also take advantage of the deals. The Nintendo Switch eShop currently lists CRYSTAR at 65% off, $17.49 USD and CRYMACHINA at 50% off, $29.99 USD. Both titles remain on sale until May 7 at 6:59 am UTC. The PlayStation Store is offering CRYSTAR at 80% off, $3.99 USD through May 7 at 6:59 am UTC.
Different from the upcoming CRYMELIGHT, which combines top-down, real-time combat with card-based deckbuilding mechanics, both CRYSTAR and CRYMACHINA are pure third-person action RPGs. CRYSTAR follows Rei Hatada, a young high school student who ventures into the depths of Purgatory to rescue her sister, Mirai. The game’s fighting system is distinctive in that it centers on sorrow, where shedding tears empowers Rei and strengthens her weaponry. CRYMACHINA, in contrast, centers on a group of robotic girls battling in a post-apocalyptic setting with the goal of becoming genuine humans.
Although their narratives don’t directly intersect, FuRyu’s “Cry” franchise frequently features emotionally charged stories that resonate deeply. Considering that CRYMELIGHT stars an amnesiac capable of perceiving her companions’ traumatic memories through touch, it’s reasonable to anticipate that the newest installment will deliver a similarly impactful experience.
