Frontwing and Bushiroad have made available a complimentary demo for the forthcoming coming-of-age visual novel Diss Diss Discussion. This title features a narrative derived from stage plays by Japanese playwright Yu Tomisaka, character designs and artwork by Takuya Fujima (Negima!? Neo, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha), and a soundtrack composed by Anze Hijiri (Peak a Soul+). The demo provides access to an introductory segment of the complete game.
Diss Diss Discussion is set within Kohnodai Academy, an institution that emphasizes student self-governance and autonomy. The story unfolds through an ensemble cast as they convene to deliberate and vote on policies that dictate their daily lives.

The plot kicks off when Risa Sakurai, the student council president, ignites a campus-wide debate by suggesting that school uniforms become optional. Her vice president, Ryo Hiyama, fiercely opposes the idea, having a particular fondness for how Risa looks in her uniform. In the background, secretary Hasumi Ai secretly harbors affection for Ryo, while another student tries to verify suspicions about her boyfriend, and numerous other personal dramas emerge among the diverse cast of characters.
As noted on the Steam page, the game is described as “a visual novel about the silly things we say to make progress.” Each character brings their strongly held opinions to every discussion and policy debate, causing arguments to escalate quickly. Beneath the surface of logic and reasoning, glimpses of their genuine emotions influence their choices. Although the students voice their own perspectives, you hold the power to make the decisions that shape the school’s future, the relationships among students, and the ultimate outcome.

Beyond the central conflict between Risa and Ryo, another significant plotline centers on the school’s cultural festival. During this event, class representatives advocate for their agendas, concoct excuses, exploit loopholes, and employ clever reasoning to avoid undesirable tasks.
Diss Diss Discussion is scheduled for release in early 2027 across Windows (Steam, DMM Games, DLsite), and Nintendo Switch. The demo is currently available on Steam. Further details about the game can be found on its official website.
