Drunken Rogue, a dungeon-crawling RPG where heroines gain strength with every drink, is set to debut on Steam this August 21.
Japanese publisher Waku Waku Games and indie developer 2.6 Billion Years Studio have revealed that their deckbuilding roguelike RPG, Drunken Rogue, will arrive on PC (Steam) on August 21.
The game follows the wild escapades of Lita – the namesake drunken rogue – as she explores perilous dungeons leading to the Vampire King’s Castle in pursuit of a legendary wine collection, supposedly hidden by Endo, the Vampire of Demise. As players advance, Endo becomes an unlockable character, bringing a fresh gameplay experience.

To claim the coveted spirits, Lita must navigate multiple dungeons fraught with traps, treacherous landscapes, and demonic foes. Survival depends on their special skills: Lita can dodge threats using her Wind Cloak, whereas Endo can turn into mist and cast magical spells. However, each hazard dodged returns more formidable on the next level.

The core gameplay of Drunken Rogue revolves around intoxication, with characters growing more powerful as their drunkenness rises (Endo gets intoxicated from consuming blood). However, as in real life, excessive drinking impairs their judgment, leading to hallucinations. Even Lita’s loyal dog, Odysseus, might appear as a fearsome demon when her perception blurs. The Steam store page playfully cautions players to “drink responsibly.”

Drunken Rogue is slated for release on August 21 for PC (Steam). A demo is also available for players to try.
