The top mobile game developers are determined to also conquer the otaku community. In an official announcement, the production committee behind the animated adaptation of the successful video game Free Fire revealed that the series will officially be titled Free Fire Daybreak. To maximize hype, a new promotional image confirmed that this massive transmedia project will land on global television during the spring season of 2027.

Unlike a meaningless battlefield for collecting weapons, the plot will take us to the futuristic city of New Dawn, a massive metropolis completely controlled by the powerful Horizon Corporation. The story follows Kelly, a sixteen-year-old girl who becomes forcibly involved in a shady experiment called “Project Bloom.” Upon awakening a mysterious ability named Limit Break, capable of unlocking any sealed power, our protagonist must team up with allies like Hayato and Moco to unravel the corporation’s dark conspiracy and try to recall fragments of her forgotten past.

A collaboration between entertainment giants

To ensure this massive franchise receives a worthy treatment on screen, animation was commissioned to the studio Candy Box, under the meticulous direction of veteran Ken Takahashi. For the narrative, Hotaru Asafuji will be responsible for weaving the series’ main scripts, while music and sound design will be handled by Sus4 Inc. This monumental adaptation is being co-produced directly by corporate titans Kadokawa and Garena, ensuring massive distribution for fans across all continents to enjoy it simultaneously.
