Resolving diplomatic crises, border disputes, and clashes with international cartels already sounds like a demanding job, but doing it by applying wrestling moves and sampling local cuisine takes it to another level. Kodansha’s Morning magazine officially confirmed that the manga Funso Deshitara Hatta made (If It’s a Conflict, Leave it to Hatta) will get its own anime adaptation.

The story follows Yuri Hatta, a talented geopolitical risk consultant who travels the planet’s most diverse corners to tackle issues ranging from territorial disputes and ethnic tensions to organized crime networks. Far from being a boring bureaucrat stuck behind a desk, Yuri combines her overflowing intellect, deep cultural knowledge, and extreme tactics that often include moves straight from the ring.

Throughout her journeys, the protagonist visits isolated communities rich with local superstitions and ultramodern metropolises, unraveling each conflict’s reality while indulging in the strangest and most exotic foods she encounters. While the publisher hasn’t disclosed more details about production or voice cast, they promised to reveal more information soon.

Written and illustrated by Motohiro Den, the original manga began serialization in Morning magazine and the D Morning app in November 2019, primarily published digitally since. Kodansha’s work has achieved notable success, recently surpassing 1.2 million copies in circulation as it prepares for the release of its 20th compiled volume.
