Spike Chunsoft has recently revealed that Danganronpa 2×2 is set to release on January 14, 2027. This upcoming title serves as a complete remake of Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair, which first hit the PSP in 2012. Additionally, it introduces a brand-new narrative mode called Slayhem Mode, featuring fresh culprits, victims, and unexpected plot developments.
As the launch date approaches, publishers and associated entities have been actively producing merchandise for Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair and Danganronpa 2×2 to capitalize on the current excitement. While Danganronpa has always been popular for merchandise in Japan, with Monokuma and Nagito Komaeda-themed items frequently appearing regardless of new releases, the current wave is particularly robust.
In this regard, Bandai has unveiled a new lineup of Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair products that will be exclusively available through the Bandai Fashion Collection section on the Bandai Premium website in Japan.
The latest merch collection includes charming Monokuma and Monomi hairbands and a vocal acrylic standee showcasing the game’s official logo. However, the standout item is undoubtedly the officially licensed underwear.
Available in two distinct designs, these polyester boxers are precise replicas of the undergarments worn by Hajime Hinata and Nagito Komaeda in the original game. Fans of Danganronpa 2 may recognize Komaeda’s grey checkered boxers, as the series traditionally allows players to acquire character underwear. Although Hajime’s panties are not explicitly shown in the game, the blue-white cherry blossom pattern is considered canonical.
The boxers will be offered in men’s M/L and women’s M/L sizes, with shipments scheduled to begin in February 2027. Preorders are now open, though it remains unclear if these items will be available outside of Japan.
