If you’ve ever clung to a game long after the rest of the world has moved on, you’ll likely connect with Leo, the protagonist of Monologin. As a nightshift worker at a convenience store, Leo finds his only comfort in EdenVale Online, a once-popular MMORPG now virtually deserted.
While the customers might appear amiable, Leo’s perspective casts them in a less flattering light. Take Piko, for example—a smooth-talking individual who mocks fading MMOs and champions only the latest trends. Leo maintains a composed exterior at work, but his inner thoughts reveal his isolation and yearning to escape back into EdenVale.

Monologin’s narrative employs a dual-perspective approach, offering fresh insights into Leo’s interactions with customers. The decisions you make influence which of the three possible endings you’ll experience, yet the game consistently explores themes of escapism, superiority, loneliness, and the dread of being left behind. Each playthrough clocks in at around 30 minutes, designed for a single sitting.
The game’s striking red, black, and white color scheme, coupled with its anime-inspired visuals, echo the style of creator VAINSANE, known for other psychological horror titles. Monologin’s interface, unsettling soundtrack, and utilization of vacant digital spaces are crafted to evoke the sensation of navigating a dying MMO.

Monologin is accessible on Windows, macOS, Steam OS, and Linux (Steam).
