IG Port, the corporate parent of anime creators Production I.G and Wit Studio, has disclosed its financial performance for the fiscal year concluding May 2026. According to data from GameBiz, the organization experienced a downturn in both revenue and profit margins across the board. Operating profit saw a significant drop of 46.3% compared to the previous year, and it was nearly 57% below the projections IG Port had initially set.

Within its animation production division, revenue actually climbed by 10.7% year-over-year. However, this growth did not yield profitability, as the segment recorded an expanded operating deficit of approximately $8.22 million USD. Notable projects from this division include Devil’s Crest, Eren the Southpaw, Agents of the Four Seasons, HAIKYU!! VS the Little Giant, and The One Piece.

IG Port attributed these challenges largely to production timeline setbacks. Coupled with escalating production expenses industry-wide, the company pointed to higher costs in personnel, CG production, and outsourcing as key factors. Additionally, the weak financial showing was compounded by the need to account for “provisions for anticipated losses on orders,” suggesting that certain ongoing projects were projected to incur costs exceeding their potential earnings.

Despite robust performance in other segments such as publishing and licensing, which surpassed expectations, IG Port forecasts a further 24.3% decline in operating profit for the upcoming fiscal year.
