At the Tokyo Game Show 2026, Koei Tecmo unveiled SophieChat:AI, an AI-driven chat game crafted in collaboration with SpiralAI and Gust. This announcement comes on the heels of the recent launch of the Atelier Ryza-inspired chat game, RyzaChat:AI.
The forthcoming SophieChat:AI is an AI-powered RPG with free-scenario gameplay, set within the universe of Atelier Sophie 2: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Dream. Players will have the opportunity to explore the world of Erde Wiege, engage in alchemy, partake in battles, or simply converse with the main character, Sophie Neuenmuller. The gameβs structure appears to closely mirror that of RyzaChat: AI.
During the live showcase, Yuka Aisaka, the voice of Sophie and contributor of voice recordings for the titleβs voice synthesis, demonstrated gameplay from a development build. Artist NOCO, a lead character illustrator for Atelier Sophie, also chimed in, revealing their role in designing Sophieβs expressions and outfits for the new application.

When Ryza:Chat AI was first introduced, SpiralAI and Gust assured players that the game featured no AI-generated graphical assets and utilized voice synthesis derived from recordings exclusively created for the game by the original voice actress. They further clarified that the gameβs dialogue was generated using a custom LLM trained on official in-game scenarios and data SpiralAI had legal authorization to utilize. Moreover, they stated that earnings from the game would be distributed among illustrators and voice actors, emphasizing the responsible application of AI. Despite these assurances, fans of the franchise remained divided on the project.

SophieChat:AI is slated for release on iOS and Android platforms. Pre-registrations for the Japanese version are now available.
