The rapper Snoop Dogg makes a notable appearance in the newest Stranger Than Heaven trailer, bringing his musical talents to the gameβs theme song, βStranger Than Heaven,β and also taking on a key role as the character Orpheus within the storyline.
While Snoop Dogg might not be an immediate choice for a game soundtrack, heβs not the sole vocalist for the theme. He collaborates with Ado, Sosuke Fujihara from Official Hige Dandism, and Tori Kelly. Each of these artists also portrays a character in Stranger Than Heaven.

Stranger Than Heaven serves as a prequel to the Yakuza/Like A Dragon franchise, following American-Japanese protagonist Makoto Daito as he journeys from the U.S. to Japan seeking new opportunities. After hiding aboard a ship with the enigmatic Yu Shinjo, theyβre found by the captain Orpheus (portrayed by Snoop Dogg), who then involves Daito in some shady dealings.
The game spans multiple historical periods, including Kokura, Fukuoka in 1915, Kure, Hiroshima in 1929, Minami, Osaka in 1943, Atami, Shizuoka in 1951, and Kamurocho, Tokyo in 1965 (a setting familiar to fans of the Like A Dragon games). Players will dive into an extensive narrative, a fresh combat system, and a wealth of minigames.
Stranger Than Heaven is scheduled for release in Winter 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows (Steam, Xbox on PC).
