The Date A Live anime announces its grand finale with Date A Live F Last Date

Fifteen years in the anime industry while staying relevant is an achievement few franchises manage. Kadokawa celebrated this milestone by revealing that Studio Fugaku has released a new official trailer and promotional image for the new project based on the successful light novels written by Koushi Tachibana, formally titled Date A Live F Last Date. The material revealed this Friday confirmed that production is underway, though the technical team decided to keep both the project format (whether it will be a new television season or a movie) and its release window completely secret.

The veteran voices that seal the commitment

A saga with such history needs its pillars intact to work. The announcement confirmed that the cast that has accompanied the work through five seasons and a movie will return in full, this time under the direction of Junji Nishimura (Vladlove). Here are the main voice actors who are reprising their roles to lead this new stage:

  • Nobunaga Shimazaki as Shido Itsuka.

Haruka Nanase in Free! and Mahito in Jujutsu Kaisen.

  • Marina Inoue as Tohka Yatogami.

Armin Arlert in Attack on Titan and Momo Yaoyorozu in My Hero Academia.

Fifteen years of dates, battles and twelve Spirits

The commercial journey of this story is truly enviable. With over 6 million copies circulating worldwide, the novels illustrated by Tsunako quickly became a pillar of Kadokawa. To celebrate this 15th anniversary, the illustrator herself confessed that she has designed completely new and customized costumes for the 12 Spirits that will appear in this anime. Meanwhile, Koushi Tachibana used the announcement to thank the unconditional support of readers, reflecting with humor on how fans who were born with the first volume are now in high school.

What does the arrival of this “Last Date” mean?

Although the producers haven’t released a textual synopsis, the visual clues they provided are quite direct. The promotional image shows Tohka Yatogami wearing a spectacular wedding dress with a genuinely happy expression. At the same time, the teaser video takes an emotional journey through the dialogue of all the heroines who have appeared in the protagonist’s life, closing with the iconic line that gives the saga its name to raise expectations to the maximum.

Considering the word “Last” in the title and Tohka’s bridal appearance, do you think this project will faithfully adapt the final arc of the light novels or will it be an original story created exclusively to give the franchise a cinematic conclusion?
