Waifu behind the wheel: Marin Kitagawa stars in racing car in Japan

The world of motorsports and otaku culture have collided in the most spectacular way possible. The TKRI Matsunaga Construction racing team has revealed the new stunning design of their AMG GT3 vehicle for the second round of the 2026 Super Endurance Series in Japan. The absolute protagonist of this new bodywork? None other than Marin Kitagawa, the beloved heroine of My Dress-Up Darling (Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi o Suru).

Unveiled during tests at the legendary Suzuka Circuit, the car features a colorful illustration of Marin modeling a dazzling “Race Queen” cosplay. The impact on social media was immediate, with drivers and team members sharing photos of the eye-catching vehicle. Team ambassador Miyakoshi Aie will also participate in the traditional pit walk wearing a costume that exactly recreates the heroine’s illustration.

A collaboration to promote local tourism

Far from being a simple aesthetic whim, this amazing collaboration is part of the “My Dress-Up Darling x Iwatsuki Anime Collaboration Project.” Iwatsuki, a district located in Saitama city, is the main setting where the sweet story of Wakana Gojo and Marin unfolds, being famous in real life for being Japan’s largest producer of traditional dolls.
