Acacia, the creative division of Japanese game studio Re;AER, has shared fresh details regarding the global release of its acclaimed death game visual novel, Magical Girl Witch Trials. The news was announced through the team’s recently launched “Acacia West” X account, which is set to become the primary communication hub for international players moving forward.
Developers have revealed that the localization of the game’s script into English, Spanish, and French is now complete. The next steps involve integrating these translations into the game, conducting quality assurance checks, and refining the user interface. Acacia notes that due to the small size of their development team and limited programming resources, it will take some time before a concrete release timeline can be shared.
The announcement highlights that the translation teams collaborated closely with the game developers to ensure a high-fidelity localization that captures the game’s dark and sadistic essence, aiming to make players “feel the worst” as intended.
Acacia promises to disclose a release schedule for the international versions of Magical Girl Witch Trials as soon as it is finalized (previously hinted at for late 2026). In the meantime, the developers have released work-in-progress screenshots showcasing the game in English, Spanish, and French.

Although Magical Girl Witch Trials was initially released exclusively in Japanese and Simplified Chinese, it has already achieved over 700,000 units sold as of August 31. The game boasts an “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating on Steam based on more than 34,000 reviews, which explains the intense demand from gamers for additional language support. This project represents Re;AER’s maiden in-house localization effort, prompting the developers to request a bit of patience from the community.
Magical Girl Witch Trials is currently available on PC (Steam) and Nintendo Switch platforms.
